While similar in
appearance an M-1 trailer had a much lower profile and deck height than
other G-221 trailers and was used primarily to transport a Generator,
usually skid mounted.
It was equipped with 5 leveling jacks, parking brakes,
and a rear gate/ramp.
Later versions of the M-7 were used as strictly cargo
models and the Chemical Corps also used a model mounted with a smoke
generator. They were also used to provide Antenna and radio equipment
transport.
Other than differences in the front "A"
arm it is identical to all other G-221 trailers.
M-7 trailer were equipped with bows and canvas
tarpaulins to cover the cargo area.
